John Dietrick, MD
Dr. Dietrick is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Society for Bariatric and Metabolic Surgeons and the Hillsborough County Medical Association.
Dr. Dietrick completed his undergraduate studies at Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. He attended medical school at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio where he was elected into the Medical Honor Society, Alpha Omega Alpha. He completed both his internship and surgical residency at Loyola University in Chicago, Illinois. He then joined the faculty at the University of Toledo Medical Center. He was appointed Chief of Trauma Surgery and Associate Director of the Surgical Training Program. Dr. Dietrick then entered private practice in Toledo, Ohio while continuing to be active in the education of medical students and residents. He helped found Toledo Surgical Specialists, Inc. and remained president of the group before moving to Tampa in 2003.
He moved to Tampa to help establish a surgical weight loss program. He is currently located in North Tampa at the Life Hope Medical Office building on the campus of Florida Hospital Tampa. He is the Medical Director of the Florida Hospital Tampa Surgical Weight Loss Institute and President of Tampa Bay Surgical Group.
